Today we’re gonna talk about the brand new Audi A7. This car is powered by a 3.0-liter v-6 engine that is turbocharged. It also has a mild hybrid system of 48 volt. This engine enables the car to have an exceptional fuel economy. The actual fuel consumption measurements taken are 23.2/34.9 mpg which is equivalent to 10.1/6.7L/100 for city/highway. The engine generates power of 335horsepower at 5000 rpm and a torque of 369lb-ft at 1370 rpm. The A7’s engine is a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission which powers all its wheels.
The A7 takes an estimated 5.2 seconds to accelerate from a speed of 0-60 mph. The car’s maximum electronic speed is 130 mph. It does so with a fuel consumption similar to that of Audi A6. The vehicle combines great speed with agility in addition to having a really smooth ride thanks to its highly responsive, strong powertrain and sure-footed dynamics. Its base suspension comprises of steel springs having fixed dampers and with a better option having air springs and adaptive dampers. This, combined with an option of having 21-inch tires improve the comfort of the car when driving on bumps and rough road.
The 2019 Audi A7 navigates through corners with great agility thanks to its sport differential. Interestingly, it has rear-axle steering capable of turning the rear wheels by 5 degrees in the opposite direction to the front wheels making it easier to park. The car matches its sporty nature with high quality braking system. The system comprises of six piston calipers which clamp on 13.8inch front rotors that are ventilated. The A7 has an adaptive cruise assist system which controls the car’s speed excellently when driving on highways at 0-95 mph.
The car has a sleek and sporty outlook that characterize its frame of 195.6×75.1×56.0 in (length×width×height). The sporty look is achieved by making the A7 lower-slung, with its rear window sloping and also having a big hatch. It looks lower compared to the A6 with its roof actually being one and a half inch lower. A design trick on the roofline includes a crease which makes the A7 to look even lower than it already is. The 2019 model’s tail is one and a half inch higher than that of its predecessor. It has an active spoiler which pops up on reaching a speed beyond 75 mph. This increases the aerodynamic stability of the car. Hiding the spoiler at lower speeds below 75 mph aims at maintaining the sleek, stylish appearance of the car. The A7 includes deliberate effort to hide shut lines that may not be appealing to the eye.
It has HD Matrix LED system of light for lighting certain areas of the road, with laser light high beams for identification of oncoming cars and subsequently dimming the lights to avoid obstructing other drivers. The mechanism works in such a way that the light system creates a shadow around the oncoming vehicle and therefore minimizing obstruction.
The 2019 Audi A7 interior is as impressive in terms of style as the exterior is. The infotainment screen uses the latest MMI touch response with haptic and acoustic feedback making it ideal to use when driving. The 12.3inch Virtual Cockpit screen displays in high resolution and in full color in addition to having great graphics. However, the color palette of the interior is monochromatic, whereby black, gray and brown colors show dominance. Despite the presence of a good quality sunroof, the interior still appears dark due to the colors available. The A7 has prestigious features such as an adjustable massaging contour seats and a system for assisting drivers. There is a built-in matrix light hardware technology. A legal permit will enable Audi to update this technology in future. There are animations during start-up and shut-down of the car’s parking, marker and taillights whereby the LEDs go through a sequence of dances designed to show the character of the A7. The animations are different from those in A6 and A8. The car’s interior is incredibly quiet and has features made of materials such as wood, Alcantara, fabric and leather.
Being a hatchback enables he A7 to have more room for cargo compared to a sedan design. This cargo space increases when the rear seats are pushed down. The front part of the car enables its occupants to enjoy ample space with comfortable adjustable seats. There is also enough legroom for the rear occupants.
In addition to the A7 having highly efficient braking system, its solid structure increases its safety rating. It also has self-driving technology, parking sensors and blind-spot monitors. There is also a parking camera, long-range radar and many other safety systems.
